River Kings Hockey

Coach Pechmann is married to his wife Renee, an oncology nurse, and has four children, Noelle, Paul, Ciera and Zachary, and one granddaughter, McKenna. Coach Paul played hockey at South Kent Prep School and then for the NCAA UCONN Huskies in college. He has been coaching for over 17 years and has helped numerous players reach their goal of playing college hockey in the NCAA and ACHA. Coach Paul is also an NCDC and NAHL scout for several teams. He brings a wealth of coaching and life experience with him to the Riverkings Hockey Club where he will continue to lead the charge of the winning Riverkings legacy and more importantly, the legacy of helping develop young men in preparation for college and life leadership. Coach Pechmann has a large network of college coaches that he has assembled throughout his years in youth, junior and college hockey that he will leverage to help incoming Riverkings hockey players and assist them in reaching the next level.

Hank began his playing career in Mound, MN, where he played through high school. He was a four-year letter winner, a two-year all conference winner, and a one-year all conference honorable mention. After his freshman year, he was coached by NHL defenseman Nate Schmidt at Phase 5 of the Minnesota High Performance Program, which included a week-long camp in St. Cloud with the top 102 ranked skaters in Minnesota. As a senior, he was a Reed Larson award finalist for the top defenseman in the state. In 2018, he joined the North Iowa Bulls of the NA3HL and helped bring the team to a divisional championship and to the Fraser Cup semifinals. During the offseason, Hank was drafted by the Minnesota Magicians in the 2019 NAHL entry-level draft. Unfortunately, he sustained an injury during offseason training that required multiple surgeries and ended his playing career. In the past few years, he has been a scout for the North Iowa Bulls as they transitioned to the NAHL. Now, as a recent graduate from the University of Minnesota with a major in accounting and finance, Hank is excited to continue his hockey career as an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings.
